Zane Elizabeth Blake Reichard Brooker, 92, passed away on May 4, 2018 while a resident of the James River Convalescent Center in Newport News, VA. She was born January 30, 1926 in Stuarts Draft, VA to George Thomas and Ida (Minter) Tillman Blake. Zane had many part time jobs over the years but her focus always was raising her five children.   She had been a member of First United Methodist Church Fox Hill since 1969 when the family moved to Fox Hill. She was active in the United Methodist Women and other Church activities serving on many boards and committees. Zane was also active along with her husband in the Jaycees and the Disabled American Veterans.

Zane was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Philip M. Brooker, who passed away on June 13, 2014. In addition to her parents she was also predeceased by her siblings Hermie "Tillie" Tillman Tanner, Harley Melvin Tillman, John Thomas Tillman, and Shirley Mae Blake, a great-grandchild and her angel great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons Nelson Randell Reichard of Casco, ME, Michael Thomas Brooker, and wife Lisa of Bangor, ME, Patrick Lawrence Brooker, and wife, Susan of Hampton, Timothy George Brooker of Hampton, and daughter, Lori Beth Brooker and partner, Harlon Stewart of Hampton. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, with number 22 due later this summer, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Zane was always happiest when surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank Jennifer Romulus who helped Zane in her last years in her home and the staff of the James River Convalescent Center where she was a resident for the last two and a half years.

A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church Fox Hill at 2:00 PM on May 10, 2018 with the Rev. Brian Sixby officiating. Inurnment will be at Calvary United Methodist Church, Stuarts Draft, VA on May 11.
