Zacarias Uribes II, 30, died Friday, October 10, 2014. Born in California, Zac had been a Peninsula resident since 1995 and graduated from Kecoughtan High School in 2003. He joined the Marine Corps serving in Iraq and then worked four years for URS Systems at the Joint Forces Command. Zac then joined Ferguson Industries where, for the last two years, he has served as a system engineer. Zac is survived by his children, Felicia M. Uribes and Zacarias Uribes III and their mother; parents, Patrick and Katherine Uribes; brothers, Patrick Uribes Jr, Daniel Uribes and wife Tiffany; and grandfather, Zacarias Uribes I. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Carmen Uribes, Martha Avalos and Augustine Avalos Sr. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 PM at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, 245 S. Armistead Ave, Hampton. A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 AM, Friday, October 17, 2014 at the former Post Theatre, Fort Monroe. Parking will be in the Hampton Street lot directly across from the marina. Interment with full military honors will take place at 12:00 Noon in Albert G. Horton Jr., Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, 5310 Milners Rd, Suffolk.
