Winnie Ruth Inabinett, 86, entered into eternal rest on Monday, May 14. She was born on November 18, 1931 to Furman and Annie Calcutt Parker in Florence, South Carolina. Winnie attended Virginia School for the Deaf and graduated from South Carolina School for the Deaf. She was a retired civil servant from Yorktown Naval Weapons Station and had been a Hampton resident for more than 50 years.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, David T. Inabinett, Jr; brother, Sam Parker; great-grandson, Nathen Yuhasse; and David T. Inabinett, Sr.
Winnie is survived by daughter, Yvonne Dickens of Linden; son, Rick Inabinett of Hampton; granddaughters, April Yuhasse of Linden and Nicolette Steele of Richmond; grandson, Jareth Dickens of Hedgesville, WV; great-grandsons, Shane and Aiden Yuhasse of Linden; and 5 sisters, Mary Hall of Hampton, Levon Hooper and Joann Stocks of Lynchburg, Betty Campbell of Richmond and Cathy Parker of Newport News.
A memorial service will be held at Newport News Church of the Nazarene at 6:30 PM on Thursday, May 17, 2018 with the Rev. Camelot Shuff officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her name and memory can be sent to Newport News Church of the Nazarene, at 29 Harpersville Rd, Newport News, VA 23601 , to support Deaf missionary work.
