William Neil Strum, Jr., 69, died Tuesday, July 19, 2016. Born in Georgia, he lived most of his life in Hampton, graduated from the Newport News Shipyard Apprentice School and retired from the shipyard in 2015 as a Master Shipbuilder with 50 years of service. In his younger days he enjoyed fishing.

Preceded in death by his parents, Hazel B. and William N. Strum, Sr.; survivors include his wife, Lynne P. Strum; three children, Heather Strum and her husband, Roger Smith, Eric Strum and his wife, Rachel, and Lauren Eusner and her husband, Kent; a brother, Walter Strum; and six grandchildren, Travis, Sarah, Elizabeth, Alex, Hazel, and Maris.

A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 PM Monday, July 25, 2016 at Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions, 2609 Cunningham Drive, Hampton.
