William (Billy) S. Watkins Jr. born October 27, 1926, passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at the age of 91.  He was a veteran of the Merchant Marines, a reservist in the National Guard and retired from Lockwood Bros. in 1979.  He was a native of Fox Hill for most of his life. Billy was preceded in death by his father William S. Watkins and his mother Vivian Holston Watkins.  He is survived by his wife, Lillian (Marie) Trainham Watkins; children Debbie Maples (Wesley), David Watkins (Tammy), Robin Watkins (Steve), and Faith Watkins; grandchildren Stephanie O'Malley (Bob), Kevin Maples (Kara), Steven Watkins and Kriston Fields (Pat); great grandchildren Krystena Vigeant, Melissa Maples, Emily and Katie O'Malley and Brayden Fields.  Billy enjoyed fishing with his friends in Fox Hill and on the Outer Banks and hanging out with his friends at Wallaces Marina. A graveside service will be held at Parklawn Memorial Park at 10:00 am Friday August 18, 2017.
