It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Wm. Smith Rubrecht "Bill", also known to many as "Wild Bill", on Monday, February 5, 2024 at home with his wife Phyllis.

Bill was born in Miami, FL on March 15, 1952 to the late Francis Smith Rubrecht. He moved to Fox Hill, VA where he had a wonderful childhood playing baseball with his many longtime friends.

An avid Yankees fan, Bill also loved the Beatles, playing golf and watching old movies. He was a self-taught artist, a poet and athlete. Bill was a kind and loving person who never met a stranger and never said an unkind word about anyone.

Bill is survived by his wife, Phyllis Hutson; son, William; daughter, Cassidy; step-granddaughter, Riley Hutson; brother, Robin Rubrecht (Connie); nephew, Shaun Rubrecht; and niece Brittany Oldenburg (Sean).

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm, Friday, February 9, 2024 at Fox Hill Central United Methodist Church 502 Beach Rd, Hampton with interment in Clark Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1-2 pm at church.

The family would like to thank Riverside Hospice for their excellent care in advance of Bill's passing.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fox Hill Central United Methodist Church.
