William Keith Hicks, age 70 passed away on February 10, 2023. He was the son of Alda May Compton Hicks and William Junious Hicks of Buckroe Beach, Virginia.

Keith is survived by his niece, Rebecca Michelle Rhew; his aunt, Josephine Compton Sells, numerous cousins and a multitude of friends. He was predeceased by his mother, Alda Mae Compton Hicks; father, William Junious Hicks; Sisters, Patsy Carole Hicks and Jo Karen Hicks Rhew.

Keith was involved with the Sarah Hutchins Center for over 30 years and received an award for meritorious service. He was well known in the community of Buckroe Beach, was a long-time member of Buckroe Beach Baptist Church, an Honorary Fireman, and an Honorary Mayor of Buckroe Beach. He also attended services at New Hope Baptist Church.

Keith was a kind soul. Without any expectations, he loved and was kind to all people regardless of their situation in life, their beliefs, or their culture. He was quick to hug and give a smile.

Keith loved the Washington Redskins and was an avid van. He owned numerous hats, banners, jackets, blankets, and other memorabilia with the Redskins Logo.

Next to the Redskins, Keith loved bowling and participated in a local league for many years. He used a Martin bowling ball and was in heaven when he was bowling. He got to visit the Martin Museum in Arkansas on one of his trips there.

A funeral service will be held at Buckroe Baptist Church at 2 PM on Friday February 17, 2023. Interment will follow at Hampton Memorial Gardens.
