William "Bill" Green Jr, passed away on January 26, 2016. He was a loving husband and father survived by his wife of 44 years Sandra Toman Green, son Brandon Green, grandson Canyon Green, daughter Melissa Tesch (James), and many loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Bertha "Susie" Green.
Bill was a lifelong Hampton resident who retired as a Nuclear Pipe Welder from Newport News Shipyard and a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. He was an active and involved Master Mason since 1984. He served as Past Master of Monitor Lodge #197, Past Master of McMahon Lodge #303. He was the Venerable Master-Lodge of Perfection Newport News Scottish Rite Valley, Knight Commander Court of Honor- Newport News Scottish Rite, and past District Instructor of Work for Masonic District 14-B. He was also a Member of Warwick Lodge #336, Member of Poquoson Lodge #49, Member of Langley Monroe Chapter #310 National Sojourners, Member of Warwick Royal Arch Chapter and he was a Gold Card Holder for Ritual Work.
Bill was an inspiration and role model to everyone who met him and he overcame many obstacles always with a smile on his face. He was loved dearly and will be missed by all.
After cremation a memorial will be held on Thursday, February 4 at 2:00 p.m. at the Newport News Scottish Rite, 65 Saunders Rd, Newport News, VA 23601. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Bill's name to the Newport News Scottish Rite Masonic Center for building repairs.
