William T. "Bill" Elliott passed peacefully in his sleep at home on January 9, 2014, after a long battle with rheumatoid arthritis and its complications. Born in Hampton, VA on July 8, 1958, Bill lived and worked in Hampton all his life. He served in the U.S. Army as a young man and worked in construction for many years afterward. Everyone who knew him talked about his big heart and loving nature. He was one of the most caring and giving men who ever lived. His family meant everything to him. He goes to be with the loved ones who passed before him, his father Thomas J. Elliott, Sr., his mother Cleo Elliott, his brother James Elliott, his brother Steven Elliott, and several other relatives whom he loved. Left to cherish his precious memory are his wife of 35 years, Charlotte, his son William Elliott, his daughter Lisa Elliott, his brother Thomas Elliott and wife Fely, his brother Joseph Elliott and wife Cindy, his sister Susan English and husband Bill; his grandchildren, Madison, Jacob, Brendon, Kaitlyn, and Steven, and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, and special friends. He was the "favorite" of so many and his smile will live in our hearts forever. We will find peace and comfort in knowing that he is finally pain-free, but will miss him more than words can express. A memorial service will be conducted at 6 p.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2014, in the R. Hayden Smith Funeral Chapel by Rev. Wayne C. Moore.
