William B. Bittenbender, 72, died Monday, August 8, 2016. Born in Hampton, William graduated from St. Vincent High School and then joined the Army where he served until retiring in 1993. He next worked in Civil Service working as a heavy equipment instructor until retiring again. Returning to Hampton 8 years ago, he was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

William is survived by his mother, Jane Bittenbender; daughters, Manuela Seegets and Sabina Woschech; sons, Michael Bittenbender, Stephen Bittenbender and William Otto; sisters, Mary Hugh Bittenbender and Catherine Curtain; brothers, Edward H. Bittenbender Jr, Myron J. Bittenbender, Charles Bittenbender; and five grandchildren.

A memorial mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am, Friday, August 12, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

The family requests that any memorials take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society.
