Wanda Jean Rowe, 95, died Friday, December 19, 2025. Born in Harriman, TN, she was the second of eleven children born to John William and Anna Leora Hicks. Jean was a very active member of Newmarket Baptist Church, even working as one of the daycare providers. She worked in many capacities at Port Arthur for many years and always enjoyed a shopping trip and playing games on her computer (which kept her young at heart).

Jean was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James E. "Shakey" Rowe; her daughter, Brenda Jarrell; her grandson, Brent Rowe; and her siblings, Gary, Ray, Paul, Ed, and Tommy Hicks and Peggy Martin. She is survived by her son, Billy Joe Rowe; her daughters, Debra Murphy and Susy Wambach; her grandchildren, Brandy Kelley, Jason Murphy, Brandon Rowe, and Zachary, Andrew, and Michael Wambach; her great-grandchildren, Brandon, Tyler, Kyle, and Adam Kelley; her sisters, Linda Reynolds and Billie Joe "Josie" Finley' and her brothers, Jim and John Hicks.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Newmarket Baptist Church. Followed by a reception.
