Walter Hugh Lee, Jr (96) has departed this earthly life and traveled to that land from whence born no traveler returns. Walter now resides in that temple not made with hands eternal in the heavens. Walter departed this life February 13, 2014.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Walter H. Lee Sr. and Bertie Ivy Lee, his sister Doris L. Crumpler and her husband John and granddaughter, Katie Hobbs.

He is survived by the Love of his life his Sweetheart and wife of 68 years, Evelyn S. Lee; daughter, Deborah and her husband Bill Hobbs. Walter was most proud of his grandchildren, Nick and Gena Hobbs and great-grandchildren, Kylah, Riley and Brooks. He also left behind his best friend Wayne Walker and his wife Loretta. Wayne and Walter traveled together, fished together and enjoyed life and Freemasonry together.

Walter Graduated from NNHS in 1936 and retired from NACA/NASA in 1979 after 39 years of service in the Reproduction Department. He was a Fifty Year Life Member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Monitor Lodge #197 A.F. & A.M. for 39 years where he served as a dedicated member and Tiler for 30 years. He was Member of The Kecoughtan Royal Arch #42 and Tall Cedars of Lebanon Mariners Forest #147. In 1998 Walter was awarded the "Perfect Ashlar" award by the Grand Lodge of Virginia.

Walter gave of himself to all who knew him and helped many people and family members when times were hard. He saw many changes during his lifetime and always did what he could to help his fellow traveler.

A Memorial Service and Celebration of his life will be held, Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 2:00pm, St. Tammany Lodge #5 A.F. & A.M., 1456 W. Queen Street, Hampton, VA. Masonic Rites and a reception will follow. Pastor Larry P. Jones of New Hope Pentecostal Holiness Church is officiating.
