W. Terry Lewis, 71, passed away Thursday, January 29, 2026, in Hampton, Virginia. He was born November 21, 1954 to Carson and Faye Lewis. He resided in Hampton, Virginia and graduated from Hampton High School.

Terry was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Teresa Lewis and his son, Cody Lewis.

He is survived by his significant other, Julie Hunter; his brothers, Bud and C.W Lewis; and his children, Terry Lewis (Ginny) of Hampton, VA, Jeremy Lewis (Amanda) of Converse, TX, Corey Lewis (Billy Dalrymple) of Hampton, VA, and Jacob Lewis (Katheleen) of King George, VA. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren as well as many other loved ones and friends.

Terry was an avid hunter and a devoted member of the FoxhillHunt Club, an auxiliary member of the Braxton Perkins American Legion 25 and member of the Newport News Moose.

A funeral service to celebrate Terry's life will be held on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at 2PM, at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, located at 245 S. Armistead Ave, Hampton, VA 23669. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1-2PM at the funeral home.

In addition, a memorial service will be held at the Braxton Perkins American Legion 25 on February 21, 2026 from 3-6PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to the Peninsula Rescue Mission.
