Von Ray Patrick, 56, widower of Tammy Taylor Patrick, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, November 17, 2015. Born in Spokane, WA, he has been a Hampton resident since 1977, until 2006 when he moved to Carrollton. He dedicated 35 years of his life to the Newport News Shipbuilding and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a loving and devoted husband as well as an extraordinary father and pawpaw to his children and grandson. He will be greatly missed. Von is survived by his children, Jason Ray Patrick and his fiancée Kara Venable of Hampton and Staci P. Belleville and her son Trevor Belleville of Hampton; his mother, Louise Stewart; sister, Elizabeth Braswell and husband Ronald and children Sabrina Wilson and Chase Worthington; brother, Michael Patrick and wife Debbie; and his father and mother in-law James and Myrlan Taylor and his brother in law James Taylor Jr. The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 AM Monday at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home. Immediately following at 11:00 AM, a funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home chapel by Pastor Linwood Wells. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
