Vivian Maurine Mayberry, 94, passed away on May 13, 2025.  She was born on October 6, 1930, to Oscar and Emelia Hanson in Dickinson County, Kansas, and was the youngest of five siblings.  She graduated from Roxbury High School and attended Kansas State Teachers College, now Emporia State University.  Vivian taught at Cooper Elementary, Newton, Kansas, and Page Manor Elementary, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio.

Vivian was proceeded in death by her husband of 52 years, Maynard L. Mayberry, Lt. Col. USAF (Ret.) and her first granddaughter, Celeste Wagoner.

Vivian was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. A resident of Hampton since 1973, she was a member of Bethany Methodist Church and the Wesley class, Woman's Club of Hampton, and had been a member of several bridge groups.

Vivian is survived by one son, Dwight Mayberry and three daughters, Cheryl Britt, Linda (Ali) Aknan, and Diane (Michael) Sartori; three granddaughters, Lauren, Megan and Taylor Sartori; two grandsons, Colin Sartori and Sammy Aknan, two great-grandsons, Nathan Stark and Austin Williamson; and one great granddaughter, Rhylee Wilkins.

A celebration of life service will be held at 12 PM on Saturday, May 24, 2025, with visitation from 11 – 12 PM at Bethany Methodist Church by the Rev. Mary Sullivan-Trent. The burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park, Hampton.
