Vivian Cobb Eason, 85, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on May 5, 2014. She was born in Bertie County, NC on September 5, 1928. Vivian was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 53 years, John Floyd Eason. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Bernice Cobb of Merry Hill, NC; her sister, Betty Morgan of Edenton, NC; and her brother, H. G. Cobb of Merry Hill. Vivian lived a full and loving life. She was devoted to her family and friends. She had a big caring heart and helped others in so many ways. Vivian is survived by her loving and devoted daughters, Peggy Balonon of Williamsburg; and Brenda Lassiter and her husband Jack of Lanexa; and her loving grandsons, Mike Leary of Hampton, Ken Leary of Lanexa, Brian Baker of Williamsburg and Rick Hart of Lanexa. Vivian is also survived by her sisters, Inez Modlin of Durham, NC and Doris Mizelle of Myrtle Beach, SC; her brothers, Marvin Cobb of Ayden, NC and Milford Cobb of Suffolk; and her sister-in-law, Jean Cobb of Merry Hill. Vivian loved socializing with her "Bingo Buddies". She played at every opportunity and developed some lasting friendships along the way. The family wishes to thank Bonnie Brockwell, Vivian's caregiver, and the staff of Sentara Careplex for the care and comfort they provided. The family will receive friends Friday, May 9, 2014 from 12:30-2 PM at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, 245 S. Armistead Ave, Hampton. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:30 PM Friday in Hampton Veterans Memorial Gardens.
