Virginia Coates Heath, 98, died Saturday, October 19, 2024. Born in Newport News, she was a lifelong Peninsula resident. She retired as a Civilian Employee, Executive Officer to the Adjutant General, Headquarters TRADOC at Fort Monroe after more than 30 years of service.

Ginny married her high school sweetheart, William "Bill" P. Heath, Sr. who preceded her in death in 2013. She was a devoted wife, mother, and sister to her large family. She was a dedicated member of Ivy Memorial Baptist Church for many years, and a very active member of the Association of the United States Army. Ginny was greatly loved by her family and many dear friends, and they meant so much to her.

Also preceded in death by her son, Robert E. Heath; survivors include her son, William P. Heath, Jr. and his wife, Patricia; five grandchildren, Shannon Levister and husband, Matt, William P. Heath, III and wife, Nicole, Kerwin Heath, Joanna Callihan and husband, Anthony, and Jan Cheyenne Redfern; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:30 PM, Saturday, October 26, 2024, at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home. A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 PM, Monday, October 28, 2024, at Parklawn Memorial Park.
