Virginia Carter Caricofe, 92, died Wednesday, May 4, 2016. A native of Roanoke, she had been a Peninsula resident since 1955 where she was a very dedicated member of Memorial Baptist Church. She played the piano, organ and sang in the church choir. She was an avid gardener who loved all types of flowers. Virginia loved to volunteer her time with the Langley Officer's Wives Club and in the Air Force Ladies Auxiliary.
Preceded in death by her husband, Ray Caricofe and her sister, Faye Givens; survivors include her sister, Phyllis Butler of Punta Gorda, FL; three nieces, Candy Tucker (David) of Forrest, VA, Sandy Butler Nagorski (Jim) of Cape Coral, FL, and Juanita Williams (John) of Roanoke, VA; a nephew, Gregg Carter Givens of San Antonio, TX; five great-nieces, Tracie Adkins (Dave), Angela Lewis (Dave), Kimberly Groenveld (John), Amanda Williams, and Alethea Givens; and two great-nephews, Ian and Ryan Williams.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, May 10, 2016 in Hampton Memorial Gardens.
