Vicki Lynn Carter, 68, passed away Friday, August 24, 2018.  Born August 23, 1950 in Yarrowsburg, MD, to Alton Briscoe and Carrie Lorraine (Lynn) Carter, She has been a resident of Newport News for 19 years.  She was employed at New Horizons Regional Educational Centers Woodside campus since 2007 as a custodian, a job she loved and did not want to stop doing.

When she was not working, Her hobbies consisted of scrap booking, organizing her collectible dolls and miniatures, reading books, and spending time with her dog "Miley" AKA Her other Child. She most of all enjoyed being a grandmother and could not get enough of her grandson.

Vicki is survived by her companion, Pernell H. Thomas, children, Brandon P. Thomas and wife Jessyka, Todd M. Thomas, and Valerie C. Thomas; brother, James Carter; and grandson, Greyson B. Thomas, numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Thursday August 30, 2018 at Peninsula Memorial Park.  Immediately following the service, the family will gather and share stories at the home of Brandon.
