Vance E. "Paw Paw Pendleton, 79, widower of Alice Stanbrook Pendleton, Passed away Monday, April 21, 2014, with family at his side. Born in Martinsville, he was a lifelong resident of Hampton where he was a self-employed cabinet maker.

Mr. Pendleton was survived by his children and their spouses, Jason Stanbrook of Hampton, Patricia and Randy Crowther of Hampton, Brian and Tammy Stanbrook of Newport News and Michael and Denise Stanbrook of Poquoson; niece, Tracy J. Pendleton of Yorktown; sisters, Peggy A. O'Keefe of Florida and Margaret Frazier of North Carolina; brothers, Ted R. Pendleton and his wife Carol and Doug M. Pendleton, both of Florida; fourteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends. He also loved his two dogs, "Buddy" and " Gennie"

The family will receive friends from 1-3:00 PM Sunday at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home in downtown Hampton. It is requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Animal Aid Society, 80 Butler Farm Rd., Hampton, 23666.
