Thomas Manning, Jr., 84, passed away at home January 16, 2014. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Jayne, and son, Thomas Michael. Born in Rochester, VT, he was a long time resident of Hampton, VA. Tom retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1974 after 24 years of service as an Aircraft Mechanic, including a tour of duty during the Vietnam War. He worked for Newport News Shipbuilding as a Powerhouse Operator retiring again in 1992 after 16 years.

He is survived by his daughter, Eileen Ruth of Virginia Beach and brother, John Edward Manning of Wappingers Falls, NY. He was a member of the Rural Masonic Lodge #29 in Rochester, VT and loved doing genealogy research for his family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 10-10:30 am, Thursday at Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions in Hampton. Immediately following at 10:30 am, a memorial service will be held in the funeral home chapel by Rev. David T. Hampton. Memorial donations may be made in lieu of flowers to http://www.parkhousevt.org.
