Thomas G. Hunt, Jr., 85, died Tuesday, May 5, 2026. He was born and raised in Hampton and graduated from Hampton High School, after which he had a long successful career as a real estate agent. Tommy was a classic car owner and participated in many cruise-ins and shows. He was an avid gardener and had a great love for animals. In his younger years, he enjoyed boating and motorcycle riding.

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Christine and Thomas G. Hunt, Sr.; his wife, Sara B. Hunt; his brother, Robert L. Hunt and his wife, Edith; and his sister, Annette Hunt. He is survived by his stepdaughter, Robin Deyton and husband, John; their daughters, Allie and Rockie; his niece, Abigail Bornstein and husband, David; his great-nephew, Elijah Bornstein; his longtime caregiver, Brenda Kincaid; and two very good friends, Danny Jordan and Jerry Nichols.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm Monday, May 11, 2026, at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home with a memorial service beginning at 2 pm.

Memorials may be made to the Peninsula SPCA or the Wounded Warrior Project.
