Theda P. Jones, 93, widow of Jack A. Jones died Sunday, January 20, 2019. Born in Kilkenny, NC, Mrs. Jones moved to Hampton in 1956. She worked as a department manager at Rices-Nachmans Department Store retiring in 1980. She was a member of Buckroe Baptist Church where she was one of the first female deacons and served the church for many years.

Mrs. Jones is survived by her children, Jack L. Jones(Tina), Melody Barnhart(Terry), Yulanda Humphreys (Robert) and Rusty Jones(Penny); nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am, Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Buckroe Baptist Church by Rev. Bill Melton and Rev. Eddie Heath with interment to follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:30-8 pm at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, 245 S. Armistead Ave, Hampton.
