Obituary

Terry W. Glass, 61, passed peacefully on August 26 th following a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis.  Terry was a lifelong resident of Hampton.  Music was his passion, and he spent many years as the drummer in several local and regional bands to include Mirror Image, Prophitt, Noise R Us, Disguise the Limit and The Individuals.

Terry's entire career was spent with the City of Hampton in the Parks Department, the Hampton Coliseum, Information Technologies, and Marketing.  Before most of us knew anything about the internet, he had designed a website for the Hampton Coliseum and then transitioned to City Hall and had the distinction of being Hampton's very first web designer.  Many referred to Terry as the Web Czar.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Joan Glass, and his brother, Rick Glass.  He is survived by his much-loved daughter, Kayleigh Glass and her fiancé Darrion Sistrunk; and wife, Katherine Glass; along with brothers Chris (Dorothy) Glass, Doug (Ana) Glass, a sister, Angela Glass, and a sister-in-law, Alicyn Glass. Terry is also survived by his mother-in-law, Edith Knight-Hunt, brothers-in-law, Keith (Souad) Knight and Kevin (Kathryn) Knight along with many much-loved nieces, nephews and extended family in Fork Union, Virginia and in New Hampshire.

We would like to thank the people who helped to care for Terry over the years and most especially Diamond, Yvonne, Darlene, and Sammy along with the nurses of Amedisys.  He had a village of caregivers who made challenging years the best they could be.  We would also like to thank Mark and Joe, friends who visited with Terry often for Friday Night 'Woodstock' sessions.  Terry was the first to tell you that 'every day is a holiday' and 'it is what it is.'  His unique personality and view of things was both entertaining and often enlightening.

While no services are planned at this time, if you wish to express your sympathy, we simply ask that you do something kind for someone else or donate to a cause which is meaningful to you and know that Terry would be very happy that you did this in his memory.
