Terry was born September 28, 1952, and passed away on October 23, 2024, after a ten-year battle with ovarian cancer. She is survived by Jim, her husband of 44 years; sons, Christopher (Virginia) and Don; mother, Mary; brother, Chris (Patty); and grandchildren, Jayna, Joshua, L.J. and Nicky. She was preceded in death by her father, Paul and her brother, Steve, both of whom passed away in October 2021, and her son, David who died in December 2006.
She attended St. Rose of Lima grade school and graduated from Hampton High School in 1970. She was an active member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church for 46 years.
Terry, a military spouse, followed her husband, Jim to Great Falls, MT, Las Vegas, NV and Langley AFB, where they settled. Terry had 31 years of civil service with the United States Air Force. During that time, she also worked at Becky's Hallmark in Hampton for 28 years.
Having had the opportunity to travel all 50 states and many countries, Italy was her favorite.
We're truly grateful for the support given by Sylvia St. Martin and Virginia Ennis during Terry's battle with cancer. We would also like to thank all our family and friends for your generous time and support during Terry's last few months.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 9, 2024, at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, 245 S. Armistead Avenue, Hampton, VA. The service will be live streamed on the funeral home Facebook page at 11 AM click here
As longtime members of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, our family would appreciate any remembrances be made to Our Lady of Mounty Carmel School, 52 Harpersville Road, Newport News, VA 23601. Terry believed that kindness should be part of everyday life.
