Sylvia Jean Spencer, 65, died Friday, January 5, 2018. A lifelong resident of Hampton, she retired from Anheuser-Busch in 2008 after many years of service. More recently, she worked as the payroll clerk for World Class Gymnastics. She loved flowers and gardening, but most of all she had a charitable heart and loved helping others.

Preceded in death by her parents, Waltraut and Earl Spencer, Jr.; survivors include her daughters, Barbara Doye and husband, James and Erica Bumgardner and husband, Brian; three grandchildren, Joey and Kyle Doye and Lexi Bumgardner; and her siblings, Annette Ferrara, Barbara Routten, Kenny Spencer, and Susan Shepherd.

A memorial service will be conducted at 4:00 PM Friday, January 12, 2018 in the R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home chapel.
