Suzanne Michelle Parks, 52, retired nurse, loving wife, proud mother, and lover of her pets, died Saturday, May 21, 2016. Born and raised in Hampton, she graduated from Thomas Nelson Community College with an Associate's Degree in Nursing and proudly worked as an RN at the Hampton VA Medical Center for 15 years until becoming disabled. She enjoyed spending time with her daughter, her pets, camping, the beach, and watching a good movie.
Survivors include her husband, Robert E. Parks; her daughter, Olivia Parks; her grandson, Mason Parks; her father, William Miller and his wife, Peggy; her sister, Kathy King and her husband, Matt; her brothers, Mike Miller and his wife, Cathy and Randy Mayfield and his wife, Dorothy; two cousins, David Grogan and Donnie Grogan and his wife, Lisa; and a niece, Alana Grogan.
A funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 AM, Thursday, May 26, 2016 in the R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home chapel. Interment will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7:30-9:00 Wednesday at the funeral home.
