IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Suzanne Barbara
Husted
February 1, 2022
Suzanne Barbara Husted, 59, of Hampton, Virginia passed away February 1 st , 2022 after a brief battle with ovarian cancer. She was preceded in death by her son Timothy James Moore and by her parents Ann Marie Schneider Husted and Lt. Frank R. Husted. She is survived by her son Michael Scott Moore; brothers Richard A. Husted (Clara), Christopher M. Husted, Michael J. Husted and sister-in-law Cass Husted, along with her nieces and nephews Brittany Elam (Jonathan Elam), Dean Husted (Alonzo Blanco), Zoe Husted and Vivianne Husted – all were a large and loving part of her life.
Born in Oklahoma, she traveled the world while her Dad served in the Army before settling in Hampton in the 70's where she spent most of her life. A 1980 graduate of Phoebus High School, she later attended Virginia Tech from 1980-1981. She found her true calling in healthcare and worked in many different medical offices in Hampton Roads and North Carolina. Most recently, she found many years of joy helping others as a CMA for Riverside Cardiology. She loved her co-workers and they considered her one of the most caring people they had the joy of knowing. She always put the needs of her patients above her own, and her friends became her family. As we all know, she remembered every birthday, anniversary and everything in between, and she made sure, if we forgot, to remind us when and where, the celebrations were happening. She was known as "Aunt Suzie" to many, and especially to her extended family in Hampton who were always there when she needed some extra help. She was a member of Todd's Lane Bible Church, volunteered for the food pantry and later became a member of Liberty Live Church.
A celebration of Suzanne's life will be 11:00 AM Saturday, April 2 nd 2022 at Todd's Lane Bible Church, 1457 Todds Lane, in Hampton, Virginia. Immediately following the celebration, the family will have visitation until 2:00 PM.
We request, in lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a local food bank or the cancer society.
Arrangements are by R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home in downtown Hampton, 757-723-3191.
