Susie N. Palmer, 87, went home to be with the Lord on March 14, 2022. She loved the Lord and is at peace now rejoicing in heaven. She was born in Pitt County, NC and had been a Peninsula resident since 1966. Susie worked at Shelton on the Bay as a facility aide before retiring. Susie was known for her incredible sense of humor, her love of gardening and reading, and her love for her family and friends. She was a devoted mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Basil Palmer; parents, Robert and Eronie White; and her lifetime friend, John Edmundson. Survivors include her sons, Timothy Edmundson (Laurie) and Jeffrey Edmundson (Betty); three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and extended family.

The family will receive friends at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home on Thursday, March 17, 2022 from 5:30-7PM. A graveside service will be conducted by pastor Joe Hunt at Parklawn Memorial Park on Friday, March 18 at 3PM.

The family requests masks be worn at the funeral home.
