Susanne Hedwig Garguilo, 92, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2014. Born in Torgau, Germany, she met Salvatore Garguilo while he served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Susanne moved to America in 1947 to marry Salvatore. They have been married for 66 years and resided in Brooklyn originally. While in New York, she was a Diplomatic Chef who for many years provided fine foods for dignitaries and events. In 1986, they retired to the Poconos, PA where they lived before finally moving to Hampton in 2008.

Also surviving are her daughter, Ulrike Gadsby and her husband Nicholas of Essex, England; son, Christopher Garguilo and his wife Rhonda Burrell-Garguilo of Hampton; grandchildren, Rachahd, Alexis and Taylor; and great-grandchildren, Zackary, Zoe and Landon.

A funeral service will be conducted 10:00 am Wednesday at Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions in Hampton. Interment will follow at 12:00 Noon in Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk.
