Susan W. Powell, 57, passed away Friday, October 11, 2013. Born in Maryville, TN, she has been a resident of the Peninsula since 1960. She worked with Old Point National Bank for 17 years, retiring as a Returns Specialist.

Susan is survived by her husband of 30 years, Charles P. Powell, III; daughters, Lucy Lynn Powell and Olivia Paige Powell; mother, Clara J. Babcock and step-father Jim; Father, Clinton W. Wisner; sister, Jennifer Salden; brother, Raymond Vigeant; and father-in-law, Charles Powell, Jr.

The family will receive friends from 5-6:30 PM Wednesday at R. Hayden Smith Funeral home in downtown Hampton. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM Thursday in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park.

The family thanks all of the wonderful people at Old Point National Bank for their kindness and care. Chip, Lucy and Oliva wish to offer their eternal gratitude to Susan's caregiver, Jim Babock. Through Susan's long journey, Jim traveled every step of the way with her, offering his care and support. He was a true blessing to Susan and continues to be a blessing to our family.
