Steven Shaifer of Hampton departed this life on Thursday, October 17, 2013. Born on May 26, 1962 in Lompoc, California, he was preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Ruth Shaifer and his elder brother, Julius E. Shaifer, Jr.

He is survived by two sons, Steven L. Shaifer, Jr. and Montez T. Shaifer both of Tenn; two sisters, Thequitta Angevine and Michelle Bell both of Florida; two half-brothers, Anthont E. Shaifer and Kevin Shaifer both of California; and a granddaughter, Alexis Shaifer of Tennessee.

Steven graduated from Bethel High School as an avid athlete and served his country with the US Army. He later became a longtime cook for Cracker Barrel and Chili's. Many came to know him from his position as a cart returner at Walmart.

He will be greatly missed by a host of family and lifetime friends.
