Obituary
Steve Michael Sheets, 73, died Wednesday, January 18, 2023. Born in North Wilkesboro, NC, he had been a Hampton resident since the early 1970's. He served in the US Air Force, then went to work at NASA retiring as an Electrical Engineering Technician in 2012 after 35 years of service. He was a member of Wallace Memorial United Methodist Church.
Preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Virginia Sheets; survivors include his wife, Ruth R. Sheets; his son, Steve M. Sheets, Jr. and wife, Jeanette; his brother, Bill Sheets and wife, Betty; and two sisters, Linda Hatley and husband, Steve and Carol Reavis.
The family will receive friends from 9-10:30 AM, Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home. A graveside service with Air Force honors will immediately follow at 11:00 AM in Parklawn Memorial Park.
