Hampton,

SSGT Paul William Purdham, (USAF Retired) 88, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2018 after a brief illness. Born in Stanley, VA, he had been a resident of Hampton since 1971. He retired in 1975 after 20 years in the U.S. Air Force, which included service during the Korean and Vietnam Wars.  He also retired from Dominion Virginia Power, in 1995 after 20 years.

Paul was preceded in death by his son, Paul Jr, two brothers, one sister and his parents.  He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Beryl, daughters, Karen Kempter (Craig) and Barbara Miller (Kenny); son, David J. Purdham; grandsons, Christopher Fisher, Andrew Miller (Amanda), David A. Purdham; granddaughter, Mariah Purdham (Josh); nephews Steven, Rob; nieces Debbie, Cindi, Bonnie and Lori.

The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 PM Wednesday at Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions, in Hampton.  Immediately following at 2:00 pm, a funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home chapel.  Interment with full military honors will be at Hampton Veterans Memorial Gardens.
