Shirley O'Connell, 79, widow of Lawrence O'Connell, died Saturday January 30, 2016. Born in New Bedford, Mass., she had been a Hampton resident for 45 years. She retired in 2000 after a long career as a controller with contractor EG&G/Nasa. She was a member of Saint Joseph's Catholic Church.
Mrs. O'Connell is survived by her son, Larry O'Connell, Jr; and his wife, Jeri; her daughter, Nancy Nichols and her husband, Donnie; her son, Jeff O'Connell and his wife, Tami; her son, Rob O'Connell and his wife, Tonya. She is also survived by her sister, Nancy Costollo and her husband Vern, sister, Priscilla Campos and sister, Liz. She is also survived by her 7 grandchildren, Rylan, Sean and Travis O'Connell, Ashley and Lawrence (Conner) Nichols, and Taylor and Tiffany O'Connell.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:30-7:30 PM at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Friday, February 5, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
