Shirley Mae Miller, 85, a lifelong resident of Hampton, VA went to be with her Lord on January 27, 2018.

A graduate of Hampton High School Class of 1952, Shirley retired from the Food Services Department of Hampton City Schools. She was an active member of Pine Chapel Baptist Church since 1949, serving as a Sunday School teacher, GA and Acteen leader, WMU worker, and sang in the church choir. Shirley touched many lives and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her sisters-in-law Vivian Miller and Doris Miller, brother-in-law, Bill Owen and many nieces and nephews. She was the last of 16 sisters and brothers born to Jesse T. Miller, Sr. and Margaret Sawyer Miller.

The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM on Saturday, February 10, 2018, at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home in Hampton, followed by a graveside service at Greenlawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Pine Chapel Baptist Church in Shirley's memory.
