Born, January 14, 1951, Shirley Eloise Meadows passed away peacefully at 9:15 a.m. on November 16, 2025, at the age of 74. She was born and raised in Athens, Al.

Known lovingly as "Nana," Shirley was the heart of her family; a devoted mother of three, grandmother to ten, and great-grandmother to one sweet boy who brought her endless joy.

Shirley spent her life loving her family with her whole heart, and her greatest expression of that love was always found in her kitchen. Her home-cooked meals were legendary, and no one ever left Mama Meadows's table hungry or without feeling seen, loved, and cared for.

She worked for more than 20 years as the office manager at the local grocery store, where she became a beloved presence and a friend to everyone who walked through the doors. Her kindness, warmth, and steady spirit left a lasting imprint on her community.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Meadows. She is survived by her children Keith (Pamela) Meadows, Angela (Steve) Fryer, and Eric Meadows; her ten grandchildren; and her great-grandson. She is also remembered with love by countless friends and extended family.

Though her physical presence is gone, the memories she created, the meals, the laughter, the soft-spoken wisdom, the unconditional love will remain with her family forever.

Shirley will never be forgotten.
