Shirley Dunton, 92, went to join her husband and daughter in eternal life on November 15, 2023. She was born in Washington, NC on October 9, 1931 to Soley Swartz and Neva Swindell Swartz.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Charles F. "Donkey" Dunton Sr.; and daughter, Theresa Sue Boughan. She is survived by her son, Charles F. "Butch" Dunton Jr (Debbie); son-in-law, Joseph E. Boughan; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Shirley retired from C&P Telephone Co in 1980. She and "Donkey" traveled the US, Canada and Mexico in an Airstream trailer before retiring in 1995 in Melbourn, FL.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
