Shirley Mae Bunting, 81, a life-long resident of Fox Hill, died Tuesday, the 13th of September in her home. Born in 1934 in Elizabeth City County, she was the daughter of Alonzo W. "Babe" Clark and Manola Patterson Clark.  Shirley married Everette H. Bunting, Sr. in May of 1952.  Shirley was a graduate of the Riverside School of Nursing and worked at Riverside Hospital for several years.  Later, she worked for Southland Corporation as a store manager, until her retirement. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, Everette H. Bunting, Jr., her granddaughter, Tiffany Adkins and a sister, Carol Sue Garlock. She is survived by her children, Deborah West (Doug), Vincent "Butch" Bunting (Debbie) and Lynn Adkins (Jim), daughter-in-law Lisette Griffith, her sister, Judy Riss (Sonny), nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, 4 nephews, and 2 great-nephews. A graveside service will be held at Clark Cemetery at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2016 .
