Shelly T. Sinks, 55, died Wednesday, October 15, 2014. Born in England, she had been a Hampton resident since 1960. She retired from the Civil Service in the Accounting Office of the Langley Lodge in 2012 after 24 years of service. She was a very active member of Central United Methodist Church and enjoyed collecting Precious Moments figurines and Coca Cola memorabilia. She also enjoyed crocheting, but she adored her nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her father, Billy Gerald Sinks and her sister, Jeanette Elizabeth Nolder; survivors include her mother, Peggy Sinks; her brothers, Billy G. Sinks, Jr. and Lewis R. Sinks; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 21, 2014 in the R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home chapel by Rev. Jennifer Mercer. The family will receive friends from 5-6pm Monday at the funeral home.
