Shawna Ruth Wisser, 41, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2017, after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. She was surrounded by her dearest friends and family members. Shawna was born in Pasco, Washington, and has been a resident of Yorktown, Virginia for three years. She retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Staff Sergeant in January of 2005.

Shawna is survived by her husband of 18 years, Dennis James Wisser; children, Kimberly Ruth Wisser and Timothy James Wisser; father, Kenneth Jones; mother, Cilinda Elks and her husband Roger; Father and Mother-in-law, Dennis and Debbie Wisser; sister, Daliea Dean-Brown (Mark); brother, Christopher Olson; sister-in-law of Jennifer (Terry) Barnett, and Timothy (Jill) Wisser as well as many nieces and nephews who loved their Aunt Shawna dearly!

Shawna was a member of Here for the Girls, Inc. support group that helps with the psychological, emotional, and physical challenges of breast cancer. This support group helps to bring healing and empowerment, thus strengthening young women, and their families. Shawna was chosen to be featured in the 2017-18 "Here for the Girls" calendar which will be out soon.

Shawna loved to sew and shared her talents with beautiful embroidered gifts for everyone. She loved to go camping with her family and friends.

She will be greatly missed by those she loved and those who loved her.
