Obituary

Sharon Elizabeth Drew was born June 24th, 1982 in Hampton, VA to Wesley and Donna Drew and passed from this world on February 26th, 2016. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Pastor Samuel Hyde. She leaves behind her children, Jonathan and Bri'ana Drew; parents, Wesley and Donna Drew; special friend Brian Athey; siblings, grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and many others that knew and loved her.

She had a fun and adventurous childhood surrounded by her four siblings as well as a group of loyal and loving friends. She attended Victory Baptist Church School from kindergarten until she graduated in the year of 2000.

Her first job was at Mama Rosa's in Phoebus, where she worked for several years. Following, she worked at Dominion Village in Poquoson, VA as a Nursing Assistant. During her time there she went to school to become a Med Tech, which she very much enjoyed doing.

However, her greatest accomplishment was becoming a mother to her two children, Jonathan and Bri'ana Drew. Jonathan Andrew was born March 22nd, 2003 and Bri'ana Nicole was born June 11th, 2007. Sharon was quoted saying, "My children are certainly the most important thing I've ever done in my life."

Those who knew and loved Sharon knew she was a very caring and loving person and how her family and friends meant the world to her. She enjoyed spending quality time and laughing. She was loud, feisty, funny and a little hard-headed, but all in her charming way. She had a unique sense of humor that kept us laughing. Her heart was big, her smile was beautiful and her laughter was infectious.

Throughout her life, she was blessed with a big, loving family, a host of friends and was always surrounded by love. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

The entire Drew family would like to thank everyone for all their kind words, food, cards, flowers, monetary contribution and especially their prayers. We covet them at this difficult time, especially for her children.

A benevolent fund for final expenses and care of the children has been set up. If you wish to contribute, please send to: Donna Drew, 306 Ireland St, Hampton, VA 23663.

Words from her Grandmothers…..

She was my first granddaughter. She was so very precious to me. I will treasure the memories I have of us taking roads trips and taking her back and forth to her doctor appointments when she was pregnant with Jonathan. Then, to be at the hospital when her firstborn entered this world. She was taken so soon, but what time we did have together was wonderful and I will forever cherish it.

Walking and Talking with Papa….

Sharon is resting in the arms of Jesus,

Eating from the tree of life.

Oh! What a wonderful time

When there will be no more strife

Walking with Papa

Down the street of gold,

Talking to Peter, James and John,

Sharing the great stories of old

Talking with Papa by the beautiful river,

A river clear as glass,

Flowing through eternity;

Never to end at last

We will miss her so much

Since she went away,

But we have this promise

That we will see her again one day!                                     -Shirley Hyde (Nanny)

Comforting Bible Verses…….

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.                         II Corinithians 12:9

I WILL love thee, O Lord, my strength.

The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

The sorrows of death compassed me about: and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid.

The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented me.

In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.  Psalm 18:1-6

I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.                John 14:18
