Shannon Kelly (Von Mueller) LaPine, beloved mother, daughter, sister and friend, passed away suddenly on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2015. She was born in Charleston, SC on Aug. 14, 1972, a daughter of Eric A. Von Mueller of Ingleside, FL and the late Patricia A. Von Mueller. Shannon graduated from Floyd E. Kellam High School in Virginia Beach, VA in 1991. She was an avid soccer and basketball player. She had recently graduated from Everest College with a degree in Medical Assisting degree, which emphasized her willingness to help everyone. Shannon is survived by the two loves of her life; her sons, Samuel R. LaPine and Austin L. LaPine, as well as Samuel's fiancée, Holly L. McAllister, all of Virginia Beach. In addition to her father, she is also survived by her five sisters and their husbands, Michelle and Shawn McComiskey of Colchester, CT, Andrea and Clay Rosser and Alicia and Michael Byrn, Leanna and Larry Fowler, all of Virginia Beach and Marjorie and Laird McLeish of Seven Fields, PA; three brothers, Michael McPhee of Albion, PA Eric McPhee of Chesapeake, VA, and James Von Mueller; and numerous extended family members and countless friends. Besides her mother, she was preceded in death by a niece, Amanda Fawne McPhee. Shannon was an amazing person that could make you smile even on the worst day. She was very proactive in keeping ties with every person in her family, and in that way, will be forever immortalized in the countless special memories that she created with the ones she loved. The family will receive guests for a Celebration of Life at 10 AM Friday, January 30 at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, 245 S. Armistead Ave., Hampton, VA
