Obituary

Severn L. Robbins II, 73, died at home on April 6, 2016 in Hampton, VA.  A gentle soul, who used all his mortal strength to fight a tenacious battle with merkel cell cancer and won his place in Heaven as an immortal member of God's Kingdom.  Leaving this earth to go to a place unseen was just a breath away as peace came to his loving soul.  During his time on earth Severn worked for First Team Chevrolet for more than twenty-five years.  He enjoyed working in the yard, especially in spring as he was able to help nature light up the earth with a new birth.  Other hobbies were cars, remote control airplanes and riding roller coasters at Busch Gardens and Disney World.  He was also an avid fan of animals, especially cats and his granddog Chewie.

Severn was a dedicated member of Langley Baptist Church, the adult choir and the couples Sunday School Class.

Severn is survived by his wife, Jean, of fifty years, his son Patrick Todd Robbins and wife Kelly of Palmyra, VA; daughters, Shannon Robbins and husband Scott Miner of Charleston, SC; and Jill Harris and husband Stanley of Centreville, VA; four grandsons, Brice and Avery Harris; Jacob and Karsten Miner, and granddaughter, Madison Cline of Norfolk, VA, two sisters-in-law , Sandra Thomas and Fawn Barrette; a brother, Thomas Robbins and wife Pat; nephews Eric Thomas and wife Beth, and Everette, David and Bart Hogge.   The greatest joy of his life was spending time with his children,  grandchildren and extended family.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at Langley Baptist Church in the near future.

Contributions in Severn's memory may be made to Fill the Bowls, 923 Carolina Ave., Va. Beach, VA 23451.

Hope for his family will defy despair and weeping will be replaced by joy that our loved one,  released to peace, leaves a legacy of treasures, including kindness, thoughtfulness, a humble spirit, faith in God and a smile that shined brighter than any star.  Good bye for now to our precious husband, dad and daddygrand.
