Sarah Elizabeth Jenkins, 91, widow of Curtis W. Jenkins, passed away Thursday, November 24, 2016. Born in Elizabeth City County, VA on November 28, 1924; she had been a lifelong resident of Hampton where she retired from the Hampton City Schools as a Cafeteria Manager. She was also a member of Wallace Memorial United Methodist Church in Fox Hill, where she sang with the choir for 36 years.

Mrs. Jenkins was also preceded in death by her children Curtis K. Jenkins and Marjorie Shields. Surviving are her daughter, Cathy Mason of Hampton; brother, James E. Melson of Hampton, six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 11 AM-12:00 Noon, Monday, November 28, 2016 at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home in downtown Hampton. Immediately following at Noon, a funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home chapel by Rev. Herbert Brynildsen, Jr. Interment will follow in Clark Cemetery.
