In Loving Memory of Sandra Wood Spencer Born: October 12, 1940 Died: August 28, 2023.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Sandra Wood Spencer on August 28, 2023, at her home, with her devoted husband of 65 years, Frank W. Spencer, by her side. Born on October 12, 1940, in Hampton, Virginia, Sandra was the daughter of Charles W. Wood, Jr. and Myrtle Torbert Wood, and the sister of Charles W. "Bill" Wood, III. She now reunites with her parents, brother, and beloved sons, Frank W. Spencer, Jr. and Ray C. "Sonny" Spencer.

Sandra graduated from Hampton High School in 1957 and attended Hampton Roads Business College.  She had a great love for fishing, achieving numerous fishing citations, and was an avid sports fan, rarely missing a televised NASCAR race.

Later in life, Sandra discovered her talents for painting and crafts. This newfound passion led her to establish her own venture, Sandy Crafts. Her creations have been shared at shows across Virginia and North Carolina.

In addition to her husband, Sandra is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David T. Spencer and Paula C. Spencer, grandchildren, Christopher Spencer, Ashton Spencer, and Rachel Spencer, great-grandson, Draven Spencer, and 10 nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

A service to remember and celebrate Sandra's life will be held on September 9, 2023, at 10:00 AM at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, 245 S. Armistead Ave, Hampton, Virginia. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Peninsula Memorial Park.
