IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sandra Hodge
Green
October 13, 1942 – September 18, 2024
Sandra Hodge Green, 81, of Hampton, VA went home to her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, September 18, 2024. Sandra was born on October 13, 1942, in Hampton, VA to the late Harold and Ethel McCoy. She is survived by her husband Ronald Green, sister Aurelia Henning Hal, sons Thomas R Hodge, Jr. (Tommy) and Kevin E. Hodge, and children Holly Hodge, Emigail Stein and Alicia Hodge (Alee). She spent her entire life in Hampton, graduating from Hampton High School 1961 and attended Thomas Nelson for 2 years. She taught ballet for many years from her own experience as a dancer and was a majorette playing in Hampton High school band.
She drove a bus for Mary Atkins Christian Day School. Sandra worked in banking and retired from the city of Hampton Conventions and Tourism department. She always loved to be a part of the community. She was a volunteer with the Hampton Bay Days and Hampton Cup Regatta. Sandra was always known as very caring. She served on the community crisis hot line for many years. She went to Hampton Roads Baptist Church where she was baptized and taught Sunday School. For the last 18 years, she was a member of Restoration Church in Fox Hill.
Sandra's love for her family was only surpassed by the love she had for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She also adored her late dogs Ginger and Popeye as if they were family. She was a blessing to all and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. If any stranger came in the house, she wouldn't miss the opportunity to offer them a glass of water. She was incredibly softhearted and kind. Anyone that met her would say that she was a very sweet person. Sandra and her husband Ronald enjoyed dancing, many vacations, and walks to the water on Chesapeake Avenue. Left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
