Sandra Lee Clarke Angel "Sandie", 73, died Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at her home in Hampton following a protracted illness. A lifelong Hampton resident, Sandie was born in Orlando, Florida and was raised in the Buckroe Beach area by her paternal grandparents, Sylvester and Anna Minich. Sandie spent many years working as a hairdresser locally and loved her work, she additionally volunteered at St. Joseph Catholic Church and was a regular participant in the prayer shawl ministry until her health became very poor.
Sandie was preceded in death by her husband William (Bud) Angel, father Everette Minich, Sr., step-mother, Nancy R. Minich, mother, Sarah McMillan and grandparents.
Sandie is survived by her siblings, Everette Minich, Jr. (Junior) and Mary Minich; her only child, Christina Clarke Cassidy; grandchildren Margaret Pena, Winifred (Quinn) and spouse Alexander McCord, Matthew Cassidy and Adam Cyphers. One of her greatest joys was becoming a great-grandmother in 2019 to Charles Jackson McCord. Sandie also enjoyed her "bonus grandchildren", Kelton, Ana, Cassie, Allyssa, Aubree and Keith.
The family would like to especially thank Michael Fruck, Tim Cassidy and Leigh Major for their help and support in all of the arrangements for Sandie to be able to come home under hospice care.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm Saturday, September 4, 2021 at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home in downtown Hampton.
