Ryland Vincent Mundie, 83, died peacefully in his Alabama home on Friday, June 19, 2026. He had recently moved to Alabama to be closer to Christina and family. Born in Windsor, Vince lived most of his life in Hampton where he was a member of First United Methodist Church. He retired as a Senior Quality Analyst from Huntingtin Ingalls in 2006 after 45 years of service. Very active in the masonic community, he was a life member of Monitor Lodge #197, McMahon Lodge #303, Warwick Lodge #336, and the Newport News Scottish Rite. He was also a member of the Kecoughtan Royal Arch #42 and the Knights of St. Andrew.
Preceded in death by his wife, Marian K. Mundie; Vince leaves behind a daughter, Christina Ownby and her husband, Matt; two grandchildren, Sophia and Maxwell Ownby; a sister, Cynthia G. Morrill; and two brothers, Robert L. Mundie, Jr., and Richard C. Mundie.
The family will receive friends from 9-10AM, Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at First United Methodist Church, Downtown Hampton. A funeral service will be conducted at 10AM and interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park.
