Roy M. Kegley, Jr., 69, died Thursday, November 2, 2017. A lifelong resident of Hampton, he served in the US Army and retired from the Hampton Police Department in 1999 after 25 years of service. He was a member of the FOP Lodge #26. A diehard Atlanta Braves and Washington Redskins fan, he also enjoyed golfing and fishing.

Preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Mary Kegley, his son, Aaron Holtman, and his grandson, Colin Holtman; survivors include his wife, Florence Holtman-Kegley; his children, Michelle Jones (Jerry), Randy Holtman, Missy Juneau (Carl), and Cindy Holtman; his sisters, Betty Maynor (Gerry), Pat Sigmon (Jack), and Sandra "Punkie" Brickey; eight grandchildren, Robert Jones, Evan Juneau, Andrew, Alexis, Danielle, Cameron, and Kailyn Holtman and Jacob Smith; a great-grandson, Bryson Holtman; his mother-in-law, Florence Trax; and a host of other family members.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Monday at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home.
